Alfdex is a Global leader in active crankcase ventilation systems for diesel engines. They enjoy a 65% market share, for new engine production in North America. As an OE manufacturer, Alfdex is an IATFTS 16949 supplier. They are a high volume semi-automated production operation and the sole patent holder and manufacturer of their technology.
The Genuine OE Service kits are identical to the OEM separator part, minus the OE-specific engine interface die cast lower housing. The separator is accelerated to a high RPM (~10k RPM) driven by engine oil pressure. The vacuum generated by the separator spinning draws crankcase gas (blow-by & oil mist) into the separator. Liquid oil is separated out of the crankcase gas and drained to the sump. The cleaned gas is then redirected to the turbocharger’s fresh air intake.
Fault codes are stored, and check engine lights activate, when a malfunction take place. Truck owners are motivated to replace the units as the vehicle won’t pass an emission check.
